I hope this message finds you well! I have two bits of information to share with you in this brief message.

First off: I’ve released a new game! It’s called Mom N’ Pops, and it’s a journaling and drawing game about becoming a tattoo artist. I started it as part of the Mapemounde 2022 game jam event, and after the jam was over I made some revisions based on feedback I’d received. What’s more, I was awarded the First Place Overall in the game jam…! I’m proud of what I’ve created, and I enjoyed the process. You can have a look yourself at the following link:

I think I’ll make more journal-based and physical games in the future and release them here on itch and perhaps other platforms.

My next bit of news is more of a personal update. About a month ago, I packed-up anything that could fit in my Toyota Corolla, sold off or gave away everything else, and then moved across the country to an “eco-institute.” After 18+ years of working in non-profit education and training, I’m now learning sustainable farming and building techniques. It’s a drastic change of my lifestyle, and one of the most challenging new chapters in my life, but it’s one I’ve wanted for a long time. After several years of planning, saving, and deliberations I am confident I’ve made the right move.

I could ramble on about this for days, likely. But I’ll spare you. What this means is that future releases will likely require a payment. Mom N’ Pops, for example, has a price of US$2.49. For some people, that’s not much. However, small projects like these will be my only form of income for the foreseeable future.
