Mom N' Pops

Imagine you are an aspiring tattoo artist. Maybe you’ve wanted to do this ever since you were young. Maybe you were just fired from your job, and with this free time on your hands you want to try out a new career. In any case, you express your wish to become an accomplished tattoo artist to your parents.

 They’re enthusiastic about you living your dream, and want to help you. They both volunteer to be your practice Subjects so you can refine your talents and become a tattoo success. They also buy you the “starter” equipment you’ll need. So you now have a tattoo studio, and two willing Subjects. All that’s left now is for you to begin your journey.  

Work with – and work on – your two Subjects so you can build your skills and become a competent, confident tattoo artist and begin your new career!

Mom N' Pops is a storytelling game made for the Mapemounde 2022 game jam and was the winner of three #1 awards, including Best Overall. Development took place over about 6 days. The revised version 1.1 includes graphical updates for the player sheets, as well as some rules clarifications and other additions based on feedback I'd received after the close of the game jam.

This is a print-and-play game that requires paper, something to write with, and a deck of classic playing cards with the Jokers removed. Two six-sided dice are optional components (used for optional random generators included with the game rules).
